client company owns a small country village pub which requires:
1) A Manager
2) A Bar worker

The vacancy is for a Bar Manager who is experienced as a Bar/Pub Manager who can deal with all aspects of ordering wet and dry stock, handling and recording cash and till transactions, who has experience managing staff and above all is totally HONEST. The candidate must not be too proud to help out with housekeeping, cleaning and the full range of duties carried out by all staff including cleaning the toilets. The second job is for a part-time or full-time assistant who can deputise for the Manager when he/she is on holiday or has days off.

The Manager’s position is a full-time permanent job, not just a seasonal one and attracts pay at £7 GBP per hour, depending on experience and generally there will be a 35-40 hour working week. Overtime may be necessary, probably doing other duties in the bar etc.

The Assistant’s position may be either full-time or part-time and is also permanent. It attracts pay at £5.05 GBP per hour.

The pub works standard opening hours which are Monday to Sunday 11.00hrs to 23.00hrs thought it opens for shorter hours in the winter and longer hours in the summer. At some times during the year there is live entertainment when musicians or a local band may be playing in the pub, usually at the weekend.

Duties:
This is a small country pub so the successful candidate will run the pub for the owner and deal with all general management and administration and when necessary clean the public areas of the pub doing general duties performed by other staff and frequently carried out by the manager during staff holidays, illness etc.

Normally the pub operates fully throughout year and not just the summer season. Being near some of the most famous areas of Scotland for outdoor activities and sports like fishing, hill walking and other country pursuits, there is always a good cross section and mix of patrons.

This vacancy will not suit any candidate who likes busy city/town life and needs to have many people around. This is a small community situated in rural Perthshire 40 kilometres from Perth, the main city in the Southern Highlands. It is ideal for a candidate who enjoys quiet country pursuits like hill walking and climbing, sailing and water sports (but remember the water is cold most of the year). The successful candidates ideally will hold a full driving licence for cars though driving is not essential for the job. Comrie is also around 80 kilometres north of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, the 2 main cities in Scotland.

The candidates can be male or female aged between 21 and 65 (older candidates would be considered but the job does involve moving heavy objects like barrels and cases of beer and soft drinks) and may suit a couple or two friends who wish to work together.

Experience of bar work and running a bar is essential. The candidates will require to speak almost fluent English and be able to write and read confidently in English. Accommodation is not supplied but can be obtained locally, probably in a static caravan.
