On this fascinating eight-day tour, explore the delights of Azerbaijan, a beautiful country on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Your journey takes you from the cosmopolitan and ancient capital of Baku to the charming medieval town of Sheki in the Caucasus Mountains, via fire temples, fortresses, and historic trading towns. You will also be able to spend a day visiting the Mud Volcanos near Gobustan State Reserve where has more than 600,000 rock paintings, which depict primitive men, animals, battle-pieces, ritual dances, bullfights, boats with armed oarsmen, warriors with lances in their hands, camel caravans, pictures of sun and stars, on the average dating back to 5,000-20,000 years. A night will then be spent in the capital city, then travel through ancient Absheron visiting the beautiful monument of Absheron peninsula. Next day, visit the previous capital of Azerbaijan, the city of Shamakhi, then continue your journey with visits to the mountain village of Lahic. This place is famous for its coppersmiths and its cobbled streets. Stay the night in Gabala where is one of the most ancient cities in Azerbaijan. Rich in culture, rich in activities and most definitely rich in sights. Next day, explore Gabala, home to interesting ruins from its time as the former capital of Caucasian Albania. Visit Sheki city, a true gem of Azerbaijan tourism. Sheki is a small city that has a whole lot to offer by way of historic attractions; in particular, the Palace of Sheki Khans which is a magnificent work of Islamic architecture. at the end of the tour, transfer to Baku International Airport and check-in for your onward flight.
